PENGARUH KARAKTERISTIK INDIVIDU, KARAKTERISTIK PEKERJAAN DAN KARAKTERISTIK SITUASI KERJA TERHADAP KINERJA KARYAWAN PADA PERUSAHAANDAERAH AIR MINUM KOTA PANGKALPINANG

This research was done in local tapwater company (PDAM) Pangkalpinang City. PDAM is the only company which prevides clean water for Pangkalpinang Citizens and its surroundings.
In doing its operation, the PDAM of Pangkalpinang City need skill, colleagues, functionary, salary, incentive, attitude toward the work and work atmosphere which support it so that the employees are motivated to work and finally the performance increases.
In this research, the writer would like to know and test the influence of individual characteristic (X1), work characteristic (X2) and work atmosphere characteristic (X3) toward the employees performance of PDAM Pangkalpinang City By spreading of distributing questionnaires to 53 employees of PDAM Pangkalpinang City in order to know the influence either partially or simultaneously and to know the influence of the three Characteristic which one is the most dominant toward the employees performance (Y) of PDAM Pangkalpinang City.
In this research, the method used is double linear regression analysis, the data are tested by regession analysis assumption (classic) and t – test (partial test) and F – test (simultaneously), the result of this research show that individual characteristic variable partially (X1), work atmosphere characteristic (X3) have partially significant influence toward the employees work (Y) whereas the work characrteristic (X2) shows insignificant (negative) of the result of hyphotesis is rejected, that is, it has negative influence toward performance. Simultaneously the three characteristic influence the employees performance (Y). it is also found that the influence of individual characteristic (X1) is the most dominant/biggest among the three free variables.
